About
I am a very active investor and I’ve been trading my own book for several years. I’m using this blog as a journal of my trading activities in hopes that it will help me make better trading decisions. I find it useful to review my trades on a consistent basis and I think the act of recording my trades forces me to take extra caution – always a good idea.
The core of my trading system consists of selling options. I sell puts as a means to acquire stocks that I want to own. I write covered-calls when I want to exit the position. I also use put and call selling as a means to lower my cost basis on positions as well as earn income from them.
My short options trades are typically from one to three months in duration. I average a few trades a week. I typically make trades in the last hour of the trading day and I try to post the trade information on this website shortly thereafter. Each month on expiration I do a summary of any options I have written that have expired or get assigned. I try to write one or two posts with some basic market commentary throughout the week as well.
I write software for a living and unless it is the last hour of the trading day you can find me at my business where I monitor websites and other network resources.
